Implementation Design, Development, and Testing
We specialize in applying Agile development practice to build Web 2.0 (and beyond) Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), hosted applications, and web services. Our rich background in web applications, dynamic media (digital imaging, video), computer graphics, and distributed systems, both on the server and on a variety of desktop and handheld systems, allows us to help with many different problem domains.
Our focus is on new projects, but for some clients we can help with evolving your existing applications, providing maintenance patches, or debugging thorny problems.
We have a "quality" first focus, applying Test Driven Development practices internally. We can help you use TDD and other techniques to make your product shine.
Our technology focus is predominantly Ruby on Rails, Flash (Actionscript)/Flex/Adobe Integrated Runtime RIAs, and Jabber/XMPP chat technologies. We also build applications for Social Networking platforms such as Facebook. However, we believe in using the right tool for the job and are also proficient on C/C++, Perl, Java, and other languages.
Training and Coaching
We can fashion training for your team in programming languages, development methodologies, or best engineering practices. We draw upon our years building, leading, and coaching traditional and Agile development commercial development teams. Though our affiliation with BuildingWebApps.com and RailsQuickStart.com, we offer training to get individuals or teams up to speed with Ruby on Rails.
Recruiting and Interviewing
Need help interviewing top technical candidates? Our years of experience developing teams for top commercial software companies have given us the insight and tools to help you interview for that special team member. We can develop an interview plan for technical candidates in a variety of domains, and if you like, even help with conducting interviews too.
System Administration
We can provide guidance and suggestions for different system maintenance problems. For some of our clients, we provide ongoing and spot system administrative assistance. We help set-up, maintain, and tweak a variety of configurations and platforms.
Typically, however, we help you get started and install automation tools to help you track your application. We believe that you should not only automate system monitoring, but also deployment, system health, availability, and notification systems. We'll even recommend back-up mechanisms.
