Mobirobo LLC is a small, focused consulting firm. Our clients include small and large companies, but we specialize in helping early-stage and pre/post first round funded start-ups in the Web space.

Expertise

We can help you with technology due diligence, architectural planning, implementation, or diagnostics. We even provide help with “softer” areas like engineering methodology, training, and recruiting.

We help with anything from a one to two day training session, architecture brainstorming, or bug fix session to multi-month (or longer) development engagements.

We apply our experience in social networking, collaboration technology, digital media and graphics, and consumer and entertainment software to assist in like or adjacent (or sometimes distant) domains.

Technologies come and go, many arrive and stick around for a long time. We are comfortable diving in to the latest thing, or helping you out with existing “standards”. Some tools that are at the front of our tool-box currently include: “LAMR” stack development (Linux and other Unix-like platforms—-BSD/Solaris/Mac OS X), Apache (also happy with lighttpd, Nginx, Mongrel), MySQL, and Ruby on Rails. We also use Perl, C/C++, Shell Scripting, and Java. We use Capistrano, Rake, Ant, Mail Technologies (Sendmail, Postfix, custom SMTP), Instant Messaging (XMPP/Jabber, Openfire, jabberd, custom chat), Revision Control (Subversion, Perforce), DNS, Monitoring (Nagios), Project Management (you name it, though Basecamp is a favorite), Flash/Flex/Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR)/Actionscript for RIA development, Tomcat for our Java work. We also make use of current Social Networking platforms such as Facebook’s APIs.

We believe in an open, honest relationship with our clients and in quality development practices. Rates

We work with our clients to tailor our contracts to your needs. We can quote hourly and other time-period rates for time and materials bids. We are also happy to discuss alternative compensation as a component of a contract.
